The Florida and Panama-based contractor GATES Builders has announced their latest project in Panama, the 250 acre International Caterpillar Demonstration and Learning Center. After a qualification process competing against numerous international contractors for the opportunity to provide construction management services, GATES emerged as the most qualified and competitive firm.
Caterpillar purchased the 250 acres for the Demonstration & Learning Center, which is located at the western entrance of the Panama Canal within the massive Panama Pacifico Development (originally the United States Howard Air Force Base).
The purpose of the new campus is to showcase the quality and value of Caterpillar products and services, as well as to offer better access to clients and distributors throughout Latin America. Beyond a demonstration and learning facility, the new campus will encompass a services and call center, and logistic and distribution hub.
“On behalf of the entire GATES organization we are proud and honored to be part of the Caterpillar team. We are building lasting relationships as we continue to help highly respected firms such as these expand throughout Latin America”, says Todd Gates, Chairman of GATES.
