3M is establishing a new distribution and manufacturing technologies center at Panama Pacifico. 3M projects to have 150 management and manufacturing employees in their Panama Pacifico operations by the end of 2009. In the first phase, the new facilities will serve Panama, Central America and the Caribbean markets, with a long term plan to create a global operations center serving all regions, including Asia and Europe. 3M will initially focus on the conversion of products for the automotive aftermarket industry, and in the future plans to manufacture products at the site for other operational divisions. 3M is dedicated to the development and manufacture of products including industrial, consumer, health, telecommunications, and security, making 3M one of the most diverse companies in the world with local presence and operations on seven continents and reaching clients in more than 200 countries, with more than 75 thousand employees worldwide.

Caterpillar

For more than 80 years, Caterpillar Inc. has been making progress possible and driving positive and sustainable change on every continent.  Caterpillar will establish a major operational presence close to its Latin America customers and network of independent dealers at Panama Pacifico. The company projects to employ approximately 300-400 people at the new Howard Demonstration and Learning Center that will be constructed with a projected opening in 2010. The demonstration center is designed to showcase the capabilities and value of Caterpillar products and services.  Caterpillar’s Central America District Office, a Human Resources  Services Center for the Americas, and several other shared support services for the region, that were recently established in downtown Panama City will be moving to Panama Pacifico.  With 2006 sales and revenues of more than $44 billion, Caterpillar is the world's leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines and industrial gas turbines.

Established in Venezuela, 3PL PanAmericana offers international multimodal logistics services to clients around the world. The company currently owns 12 distribution centers with over 16 thousand square meters of storage space.

The company will lease more than 18,000 square meters in Panama Pacifico, where it plans to build 7000 square meters of storage facilities and offices. 3PL PanAmericana decided to locate in Panama Pacifico after considering the labor incentives, investment incentives and strategic location of the site. Cabo Drilling Corp.
is a mineral and specialty drilling services provider, headquartered in North Vancouver, British Columbia. Cabo projects to employ approximately ten people at their Panama Pacifico facility, which will provide a home-base for an additional 50 employees working at job sites across Panama. Since opening in Panama in March of 2007, Cabo has experienced exceptional growth and success in the local Panama market and will use the strategic location and infrastructure of Panama Pacifico to expand their drilling activities to the rest of Latin America.

Howard Kids Academy currently employs approximately 25 people at their Panama Pacifico elementary school and day care facility. They have students from kindergarten through 6th grade and are currently planning to add additional grade levels to expand their offering to the community.

I.P. Leather Corp. currently employs approximately 230 people at their Panama Pacifico facility. The company is a partnership between Italian and Panamanian investors, producing high-quality, finished leather products for the European and American markets.

Magen David Academy is a new private elementary school establishing in Panama Pacifico. Magen David projects to employ approximately 40 people at their Panama Pacifico school, and to provide educational programs to approximately 150 students in their inaugural school year. The school began their first semester September 2008, with kindergarten through 7th grade. The number of employees and students is expected to increase annually as new grade levels are added up to 12th grade.

North American Aircraft Services Panama, S.A. (NAAS) established in Panama Pacifico in June 2007 and currently employs five people at their Panama Pacifico facility. NAAS, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, was founded in 1993 and has a current global workforce of more than 200 employees. They are a specialized service provider to the aerospace industry and one of the world's leading providers of aerospace fuel tank services. Their core competency is to provide quality aircraft fuel tank repair and modification services of all airframe types including Boeing, Douglas, Airbus, Lockheed and numerous BizJet manufacturers. NAAS uses the latest advances in specialized tooling, equipment and training.

Panama Aerospace Engineering, a subsidiary of Singapore Technologies Aerospace Ltd, currently employs approximately 178 people at their Panama Pacifico facility, providing leading edge aircraft engineering operations. Panama Aerospace Engineering commenced operations in the area in 2007. They operate from the four existing hangars and other ancillary warehousing facilities on the site. Capable of simultaneously accommodating a total of 12 narrow-body aircraft, the company is equipped to perform heavy aircraft maintenance and aircraft modification work on Boeing 737 CG/NG family of aircraft. Panama Aerospace Engineering is expanding to include Airbus A319/320/321, Boeing 727, Boeing 757, and DC-9/MD-80. Their customers include Copa Airlines, ATA Airlines, Transaero Airlines, regional operators, and other major leasing companies in the Americas.

The Panama Pacifico Special Economic Area Agency is the government agency responsible for providing a one-stop-shop for businesses located in Panama Pacifico, allowing businesses established in the area to save time and money by processing all governmental and legal requirements in one place. The AAEEPP directly and indirectly employs approximately 150 people in Panama Pacifico.

Petrolera Nacional, S.A. (Accel) currently employs six people at their Panama Pacifico gas station and convenience store facility. They have been operating in Panama Pacifico since 2005.

Radio Holland Group is a specialized company in the supply, installation, integration and service of maritime electronics and is also known as satellite airtime provider. The company employs more than 900 people worldwide in 60 branches strategically located along all major shipping routes. Radio Holland is part of Imtech N.V., one of the world's largest service providers in the field of electrical engineering, ICT and mechanical engineering. Radio Holland celebrated their Panama grand opening in May of 2008 and has chosen Panama Pacifico as the location to establish its permanent operations, providing a full range of maritime equipment and services to ships transiting the Panama Canal. Radio Holland plans to employ approximately nine people at their Panama Pacifico facility.

River Latinoamerica Industrial / Canarias Logistica currently employs six people at their Panama Pacifico logistic management facility. This company is a leading supplier of domestic and agricultural chemical treatments, providing biological products and chemical treatment machinery for customers on three continents. River's Industrial Development Center in Panama manufactures biochemical products, phytosanitary fertilizers, insect control products for domestic use, and other agriculture supplies. They are also researching tropical plants for renewable energy and water treatment.

The Universidad del Caribe is a successful university in Venezuela, now establishing a campus in Panama. The objective of the university is to develop human resources with the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values for active participation in the transformation of Panama and its integral role in the region. They will provide and maintain programs for the formation of specialized professionals, conforming to the educational necessities identified by the government of Panama to be important for the continued development of the country. The Universidad del Caribe plans to employ 131 teachers and administrators by the end of 2009, increasing to 485 through the year 2013.
